Apartment & Condo Moving

WOW!

Apartments and condos come with their own rules, and Accessible Moving works inside them every week. We are a licensed, bonded, and insured Massillon mover with our own trucks and our own W-2 crew, which matters when a building manager asks for a certificate of insurance before they will let movers in the door. We can have that COI sent over ahead of move day, naming the property as required.

Find out why Stark County folks go with our Massillon moving crew when it’s time for a flat-rate move.

Service covers padding and wrapping your furniture, protecting shared hallways and elevator walls, loading, transport, and unloading. We disassemble bed frames and table legs to clear doorways and tight turns, then put them back together upstairs.

Elevators, walk-ups, and access windows

This is where apartment moves differ. Many buildings reserve the freight elevator in a set time block, so we plan the load to fit that window and pad the elevator car before the first box goes in. Where there is no elevator, our crew is comfortable with third and fourth-floor walk-ups, including the older brick buildings near Lincoln Way with narrow stair turns. We scope the carry distance from the truck to the unit, since a long lot or a back entrance changes how the day runs. We also handle student moves around Walsh and Mount Union when leases turn over.

Pricing fits the smaller footprint. A studio or one-bedroom apartment moves from $329 flat, a two-bedroom around $549. If you’d rather pay by time, it’s $119/hr for two movers with a two-hour minimum, which often suits a one-bedroom on a single floor. A $89 deposit holds your slot, and the late-month rush books up fast.

What we don’t cover

We don’t supply the building’s elevator reservation or parking permit; that is between you and management, though we’ll tell you exactly what to ask for. Packing your boxes is a separate service. We don’t move out through a window or balcony by rope or lift, and we don’t haul hazardous items. If your unit needs a hoist, that is a specialty job we’d quote on its own.

❓ COMMON QUESTIONS ❓

Q: My apartment complex needs a COI on file before move day. Can your office send one over?

A: Yes. Give us your property manager's requirements and the name they want listed as additional insured, and we'll send the COI before move day. We are a fully insured Ohio mover, so this is routine for us. Sorting it early keeps the building from turning the crew away at the loading dock.

Q: The freight elevator is only reserved for two hours. Is that enough?

A: Usually, yes, for a studio through a two-bedroom. We plan the load around that window, stage boxes near the elevator first, and pad the car before we start. If your reservation looks tight for the size of your place, we'll tell you at the quote stage so you can ask the building for a longer block or an earlier start.

Q: I'm on the fourth floor with no elevator. Will that cost more?

A: Walk-ups take more time and effort, so a high floor with no elevator can add to an hourly job or factor into a flat quote. We scope it at the walkthrough and tell you up front. Our crew handles the older Lincoln Way walk-ups with narrow stair turns regularly, so the height itself is not a problem, just something we price honestly.
