FAQ

Below are the questions we hear most often from Massillon and Stark County families planning a move. If you do not see yours, email the office and we will give you a straight answer. We keep our pricing and our process plain on purpose, so there are no surprises on move day.

❓ How do I get a quote, and is it really flat-rate?

☛ Yes, we give you one written flat-rate quote, not a vague range that changes later. Send us your two ZIP codes, your move date, and your home size and we do the math up front. The number we write down is the number you pay, with no add-ons tacked on when the truck arrives.

❓ What does a local move actually cost?

☛ Local moves run $119 an hour for a two-mover crew, including the truck, blankets, and dollies, with a two-hour minimum. We also offer flat rates: from $329 for a studio or one-bedroom, around $549 for a two-bedroom, $799 for a three-bedroom, and $1,179 and up for four bedrooms or more. We will tell you which option is cheaper for your job.

❓ Is there a deposit, and how does it work?

☛ We take an $89 deposit to lock in your date on our calendar. It is applied straight to your final bill, so it is not an extra charge. It simply holds the crew and truck for you, which matters during busy stretches around the start and end of the month.

❓ How is my stuff insured, and what is valuation?

☛ Every move is covered by our $1,000,000 cargo policy. Basic released-value protection is included at $0.60 per pound per item, and you can upgrade to full-value protection for roughly 1 to 3 percent of the declared value. We will walk you through which one fits before move day.

❓ Is there anything you won't move?

☛ For safety and legal reasons we do not haul hazardous items like propane tanks, gasoline, paint, fireworks, or ammunition, and we do not transport pets, plants, or perishable food. We are happy to move almost everything else, and if you are unsure about a specific item, just ask the office ahead of time.

❓ Do stairs or a basement add to the cost?

☛ Absolutely. A lot of the older homes near the Tuscarawas River and around downtown Massillon have steep basement stairs and narrow staircases, and our crew works in them all the time. Tell us about stairs, tight doorways, or a long carry when you book so we plan the right crew size.

❓ How does winter scheduling work in Ohio snow and ice?

☛ We move through Ohio's four seasons, including winter. Our crew salts and shovels walkways, lays down floor runners to keep slush out, and wraps furniture against the cold and wet. If a real ice storm makes the roads unsafe, we will reach out to reschedule at no penalty rather than risk your belongings or our movers.

❓ Can you take on long hauls leaving the area?

☛ We do. Under our interstate USDOT/MC authority, our own crew handles long-distance moves with a binding flat-rate price, starting from $1,890. The same Accessible Moving team that loads your home in Massillon drives it and unloads it at the other end, so nothing gets handed off to a stranger.

❓ Do you offer storage?

☛ Yes, when there is a gap between your move-out and move-in dates we can arrange short-term storage of your goods in a secure facility. Just let us know your timeline when you book so we can price it into your flat rate and schedule the second leg of the move.

❓ Should I tip the crew?

☛ Tipping is never required and never built into your quote. That said, our movers work hard, and if your crew did a great job, a tip is always appreciated and goes straight to them. Cash on move day or added to your card payment both work fine.

❓ Can you provide a certificate of insurance for my building?

☛ Yes. Many apartment complexes and condo associations around Jackson Township and Belden Village require a certificate of insurance before move day. Give us your building's requirements and the management contact, and we will issue the COI well ahead of time so nothing holds up your move.

❓ How far ahead should I book?

☛ For a local Stark County move, a week or two of lead time usually secures your first-choice date, though we can often help sooner. The end of the month and summer weekends fill up fast, so the earlier you lock your date with the $89 deposit, the better. Long-distance moves are best booked two to three weeks out.
